The Little Sisters of Brighton operate Mount Saint Helen's School in Brighton, South Australia. Originally founded as a missionary order, they started out running a leper colony on an island south of France. Forced to leave the island when they lost control to a group of Protestant competitors, they returned to Brighton. They went unnoticed until one day their cook, Sister Julia -- Child of God, unwittingly served some tainted vichyssoise soup and 52 sisters died of botulism. Fortunately a few of the sisters were off playing bingo with some Dominicnas and so were spared. Upon discovering the disaster, Mother Superior had a vision -- it was either Saint Catherine of Sienna or Saint Thomas Aquinas in drag (she's not sure) -- in which she was told to start a greeting card company to raise funds for the burials of the 52 nuns. The greeting cards were an enormous success and thinking there was plenty of money, Reverend Mother bought a VCR for the convent. When she realized there was only enough money left to bury 48, she decided to stage a talent show with the remaining 5 sisters to raise the money to bury the last 4 nuns who were on ice in the convent deep freeze. Your help is desperately needed! Come out to Nunsense, the surviving sisters' musical fund-raiser, and lend your support!

"The Deep Blue Sea"
|
Our last production, “The Deep Blue Sea”, received great reviews and was much loved by our audience. Excerpts
from Review . . "Harvey (Annabelle Harvey) delivers the terrible extremes of it, the demands, the expectations, the fears, the ominous calms, with a brilliance that glitters with danger." "Davies (Peter Davies) is a very fine actor, well matched with Harvey, and particularly moving in their farewell scene." Russell

“Move
Over Mrs Markham”
6th – 16th November 2002
by
Ray Cooney and John Chapman
Presented
by arrangement with Warner Chappell Music Pty Ltd.
Directed
by Ian Rigney
The outrageously funny bedroom farce that electrified London and New York, has since delighted audiences all over the world. You will hardly have time between laughs. The Markham's fifteen-year marriage seems just about undone, along with everything and everybody else in this wild, zany free-for-all. There is no message - just "laughs," "laughs," "laughs."
Auditions will be held on 14th August. Contact Ian Rigney on 8272 6726 for more information.
Ideas
Meeting
On
27th March we held an Ideas Meeting at St Jude’s Hall to attract more volunteers.
This was a great success. We were delighted by the number of offers of help
for our productions and the ideas arising from the meeting. We are working
through these ideas with the aim of involving as many volunteers as possible
in a variety of ways. The first of which was a working bee held on Saturday
1st June. Thank-you to the volunteers who helped clean out our
shed and sort out costumes. Details on more ideas at a later date.
