OUR NEXT PRODUCTION

NOVEMBER

See link on this page for details of our March 11 auditions for auditions for Scarlett O

SCARLETT O'HARA AT THE CRIMSON PARROT

9-18 November 2023

Scarlett is a 36-year-old waitress who lives with her mother and has no boyfriend. She has an active fantasy life and dreams of being with her boss, Steve, but is also pursued by the awkward Alan.

Scarlett spends too much time watching old romantic movies, and in her working hours in a restaurant, she re-runs scenes from the films with her co-worker Gordon, the gay kitchen hand. As Scarlett drifts deeper into her reveries of Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Errol Flynn and Humphrey Bogart, she takes her place as the heroine in each of their movies.

But when real life romance arrives unexpectedly, will Scarlett be able to step out of the shadow of the Hollywood fairy-tale?

Who Are St Jude's Players?

St Jude's Players Inc is a community theatre group consisting of volunteers operating out of a church hall in Brighton, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. Although the Players are loosely affiliated with, and the group was formed by, members of St Jude's, today membership is open to everyone who has an interest in quality community theatre.

The Players usually put on three full-length productions a year, and they can include comedies, dramas and musicals. Although the hall is not large (it seats about 180 people), on occasions we can raise the roof! Naturally, occasions for eating and drinking figure prominently throughout the year.
