Who Are The St Jude's Players?
St Jude's Players Inc is a community theatre group consisting of volunteers operating out of a church hall in Brighton, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. Although the Players are loosely affiliated with, and the group was formed by, members of St Jude's Church, today membership is open to everyone who has an interest in quality community theatre.
The Committee of Management, in accordance with the Players' Constitution, is elected by the membership. Each Committee member serves a 2-year term, following which he/she is eligible for re-election at the AGM. Only half the Committee has to retire each year.
Free car parking is available at the Theatre, however spaces are limited.
Additional parking is available at the IGA Fresh supermarket, located on Brighton Road, opposite the Theatre and a short distance to the north (near the pedestrian crossing).
Australian plays have begun to have a stronger role in programming. And plays not previously staged in South Australia are being sought. In fact, St Jude's is fast developing a reputation for presenting 'a first for South Australia'.
At the discretion of the Committee, members who have contributed to the Players in some major way over a number of years may have Life Membership conferred upon them. This is the Players' way of saying "Thank You" for sustained long service in whatever capacity.
